When I saw Max’s post saying that there should be a Kid Icarus remake, I decided now would be a good time to post a few “screenshots” I made.
NOTE: I did not model the wings on Pit. I am unable to find the person who did… If you know who modelled them, speak up!
From here on is quoted from my original post on Nsider and WiiFuse:
Ever since we layed our eyes upon the revamped version of Pit, many of us have drooled over the idea of a Kid Icarus sequel. We can easily invision a darker version of the game, modeled after Nintendo’s key franchises, such as Zelda and Metroid. Surely it would have its own unique formula, but that doesn’t mean its control scheme couldn’t be similar to Zelda.
Let’s imagine this sequel, with the help of my primitive renders. We can already imagine a dramatic scene depicting Pit’s descent to the world below… the beginning of a new legend.
I personally created the renders below… all but the wings. I take no credit for the wings, even though they are easily the best part of the render.
Ooooh, look! Pillsbury Doughboy! Erm… I mean Pit!
Don’t go into the light!!!
Can’t… resist… must touch…. shiny….
And so Pit has descended. Yeah yeah yeah, I know, I am no Pixar. But that’s not the point! I am just explaining what I think they could do with Kid Icarus III It could be an all new storyline involving mythological monsters and heroes, or maybe characters of their own creation… For the sake of simplicity, I will use the fighting wire frames from Super Smash Bros Melee…. in a boss fight.
My, what a large frame you have…
His bow/daggers would obviously be the key to gameplay. But, flying would also be an important part, for the first time. I mean, come on! He has wings!
Hmmm… those boxes remind me of something… I guess it will hit me later….
Here we see Pit suspended in the air, bowstring/plasma pulled back and arrow loaded. This is where the innovative controls of the Wii would come in. We would aim the arrow with the wiimote, while rising up with, say, C.
Ooooh, right in the heart… that’s gotta hurt….
Yup, it hurt alright…
Now that I am done showing off my not-so-leet Blender skillz, we will move on to controls. Here is my idea of the controls:
We all know Kid Icarus Wii is completely doable, and with Pit’s newfound attention, hopefully Nintendo will try to press into it.
Well, that’s a wrap, thanks for reading
