WiiNintendo Scavenger Hunt Solution
THE CLUE IS NOT IN THIS ARTICLE. This is the solution to April’s Scavenger Hunt.
Edit: Forgot to add the list of links.
Hello, hunters and would-be hunters!
I have compiled a solution guide for the Scavenger Hunt that ran all week. I also have a list of all the links (ripped straight from my personal list, my notes still intact.)
“This is the official solution for the WiiNintendo Scavenger Hunt that was hosted throughout the week of April 14. The winner, Greatest, received a Virtual Console game of his choice. The videos are not so much a guide as a reference.”
Click the link in the original article, which leads to Wii Sports Experiment Results.
Scroll down until you find the line that says:
Oh by the way, if you are on the hunt, try typing Ubisoft First Look into the WiiNintendo search bar 😉 Good luck.
Type Ubisoft First Look into the search bar, and go to the third page of results. Go to Red Steel First Look.
There are letters underlined, spelling “fireemblem”. I left it to the hunters to add the space between fire and emblem.
Type Fire Emblem into the search bar and go to the second page of results. Go to Smash Bros Brawl Character Predictions.
Hover the mouse over the picture of Luigi and a message will appear saying “Next K3yw0rd: Broken. Good Luck.” This step did not show up in the recording.
Type Broken into the search bar and go to the fourth page of results.
At the end of the article “Nintendo DS Lite US Street Date Broken: Now Available”, there is a message that says “Hey, people, the hunt ends here for Monday. Your new word to start off with tomorrow is Ultimately.”
And so ends the First Day.
On the second day, I went easy on the hunters to let them cool off from the hard third clue.
Start off the second day by typing “Ultimately” into the search bar as directed Monday.
On the first day of results is “WiiNintendo’s top 10 Wii Games of 2007”. Click the More button, and one of the first lines visible is “Hey, SirVenom here. Buy the number 6 game! It’s awesome! Oh, and yeah, type Radar into the search engine. Starting you off easy after that tough number 3 clew (speeled it wroong on porpose, to keeep it off the serch 😉 )”
Do as it says and type Radar in the search bar.
On the first page of results is “Top 5 games under the radar this fall” In the article, the letters (and space) Dual Functionality are underlined. Type that into the search bar.
On the first page of results, you will see the article “Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wii Features…” At the end of that article is:
“shoot, i have been going way too easy on you hunters today… but i need to see how the contrast is, you see? i need feedback, so be sure to drop a line in the main article….
you are very close to a Fantastic Prize. clue? oh, it’s here. should be fairly obvious, but i can’t speak for others.
it is not in the article above, but the few lines above.”
The only capitalized words are Fantastic Prize. Type that into the search bar.
On the first page of results is the article “Camp Hyrule Starts Today; Fantastic Prize”.
At the end of the article is:
“Ok, good work getting here, even if I did spoon feed everything to you today
This is all for Tuesday. Your word to start with tomorrow is Carnival.”
And so ends the Second Day.
Start off the third day by typing “carnival” into the search bar, as directed on Tuesday.
On the first page of results is “Tough Decision – August Edition”. At the end of the article is:
“And I, SirVenom, am doing my job too. The clu (intentionally misspeeeled, as that was) is here somewhere… try looking for words that do no belong; there are two of them.”
Conspicuously placed in the article are the words “Project” and “Hammer”. Type Project Hammer in the search bar.
On the second page of results is the article “Hochiminh’s Rant Day 19”
Near the end of the article, letters are underlined spelling out “Weekly Challenge”. Type this into the search bar.
On the third page of results is “Weekly Challenge #7”. Click the more button, and you will see the message:
Clicked the more tag, eh? After several pages of results, I might’ve been too tired to click it Stunning…. That’s the word.
Search for “Stunning”. On the second page of results is the article “Wii component cables VS the bundled composite cables”. Hold the mouse cursor over the first image and this message will appear (this step does not show up in the recording):
“Haha! Didn’t expect another Image Alt, did you?! MWUHAHAHA! OK, this is it for Wednesday. I will start you off easy tomorrow (but only start, mind you!) with your cloo (necessary misspelling) being Spoil Warning.”
And so ends the Third Day.
Start the fourth day by typing “Spoil Warning” in the search bar, as directed on Wednesday.
On the first page of results is the article “Rayman: Raving Rabbids Review”. At the end of this article is the message:
“Ka-BOOM! A what do bombs cause? The answer is the clew!”
The answer is explosions. Type explosions into the search bar.
On the first page of results is the article “Gunstar Heroes Review”. Open it, and you will see this message at the end:
“We are here, we are here, we are here! You’ve done this routine before; look through the article.”
Placed in the article are the letters X,b,o,x. Obviously, this spells Xbox. Type that in the search bar.
On the second page of results is the article “Voice Chat: The Scary Truth”. In the middle of the article, letters are underlines spelling out “Graphics Matter”. Type this into the search bar.
On the first page of results is a red herring path, but that was not added until the final day so it doesn’t appear in this video.
On the second page of results is the article “In what way do graphics matter?”. Inside the article is the message:
” As is tradition with the Hunt, I will tell you plainly that this is the last clue of Thursday. You are so close! Also, as is tradition, I will start you off easy tomorrow. Your k3y\/\/0rd is WiiNintendo Forums.”
And so ends the Fourth Day.
This is the official solution for the WiiNintendo Scavenger Hunt that was hosted throughout the week of April 14. The winner, Greatest, received a Virtual Console game of his choice. The video is not so much a guide as a reference.
Start off the final day by searching for WiiNintendo Forums, as directed on the fourth day. On the first page of results is the article “WiiNintendo’s hidden gems”.
Hold the mouse cursor over the banner at the beginning of the article to see the message,
“SirVenom says: Search for Zack and Wiki”
Do as it says. On the first page of results, in the article “Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Review” is a red herring. It is followed in the video, but won’t be described in this.
In the second page of results is the article “Wii releases for the rest of this Year.” Click the More button to see this message:
“Hehe, had fun with the detour? If you don’t know what I am talking about, you obviously weren’t looking as hard as you were supposed to 😛
Ok, you are SOOO close. Here is the link to THE article…. but there is a catch. You need the password. To find it, use the the k3ywr0ds Monkey Ball. Good luck!”
I already have the password saved to my cache, so it doesn’t ask me for it. I look for the password in the video anyways.
Open up the FINAL ARTICLE, which will request a password, in a seperate window. Type Monkey Ball in the search bar. On the second page of results is “Busy Ole Target Wii Line, REVIEWS FORTHCOMING”
At the end of the article is the message,
“SirVenom- The p@ssc0de is almostthere . Hop to it before someone else does!”
Type the password “almostthere” into the final article, and voila!
And so ends the Hunt.
