Nintendo Points Card – $24.99 for 2000 Points?

by Steve CullumMarch 6, 2009

Here’s our first look at the new “Nintendo Points Card.”  Nintendo Points, depending on what system they are redeemed on, will go into your Wii account or DSi account.  Unfortunately, as of now, these two accounts cannot be combined.

Amazon currently has them available for pre-order at $24.99 for 2000 points.  This is the first we’ve heard about a possible raise in price.  They will ship on April 5, as does the Nintendo DSi.

Can’t believe they’re raising the cost of the wii points… I hope that when you buy them online it will remain the same rate, ($1 = 100pts). Since Rockband 2 uses wii points for the songs, this would basically raise the cost of every single song download… that could add up fast for those of us that like to spoil ourselves with a plentiful selection to rock out to.

They’re NOT raising the price. Some places sell Wii Points cards for $24.99 even though they should be $19.99. This is one of those cases. Most stores will sell it for $19.99. The only difference between this card and the Wii Points card is the look, so they will not raise the price.
