VDIGI VD-W3 Wii Upscaler Processor – Drops Price

by Steve CullumMarch 31, 2010

As stated before, I received a VD-W3 Wii Upscaler to review.  Unfortunately, mine had some sound issues, and I am waiting on a second unit before I complete my full review.  However, I recently received an email from VDIGI stating that due to recent reviews declaring the price as “too high,” they will be dropping the price from $75 to $59.  Is this better? Yes, but I am not sure if it is low enough. Nonetheless, I will hold off on my final thoughts until I receive my new unit. I do not want a malfunctioning product to direct my review.

It sounds interesting, but does it really improve the graphics? I'm not seeing a lot of difference in the youtube videos. Does it switch the TV input when the Wii starts up?

You will plug it into your HDMI input on your TV. It improves the color and smooths some edges, but it is not a tremendous difference. Expect my full review soon. (I had sound issues with my unit, so I will be getting a new one soon.)

What I don't get is the fact these people that made it post pic's on their website and not video action of the product showing you what it can do. But only relay on their costumers to do the work for them when they get it. And also the site keeps saying how its sold out and will be in stock every day or so but how many videos of this baby is in action on the internet? So far I have seen just 2games SSBM and NSMB. This is not good. I think this thing is fake and a waste of money.

Did you ever get your new unit in? I'm interested to see how this works with functional sound because I'd rather have nice sound than nice graphics, however both are nice 🙂

I'd love to review this myself, but I don't want to spend the money without knowing more about it.

Actually I did. I plan on doing some additional reviews today (and hopefully capturing more video if I can get it at better quality).

Expect my full review VERY soon.
