The Nintendo Developer Roundtable concluded recently and the first details on the story for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword have been revealed. There is a scene in the trailer for Skyward Sword that showed Link diving off a cliff into the clouds… that’s a very important point for the storyline. In this Zelda game, Link is born and raised in a land called Sky Loft, a land floating above the clouds. It might sound unique for someone to live on a floating land, but Link finds it ordinary.

A land beneath the clouds is discovered and it’s ruled by evil forces, but Link is forced to go there. In this adventure, Link travels between the two lands, with the Skyward Sword being his driving force behind his traveling between lands. You see, the Skyward Sword has intelligence and can take the form the mysterious figure seen in the art work for the game last year. Many people suspected the figure to be the Master Sword, but… they’re not wrong. The Skyward Sword becomes the Master Sword. Sounds like a Master Sword origin story to me, which could be pretty cool. Heck, if there’s anyone out there that doesn’t like the title, they could technically substitute it with The Legend of Zelda: Master Sword since it’s the same.

Well, aside from his nice pants, (LOL) Link can now use a whip, and if you want to switch to your sword, MotionPlus make it easier to switch weapons and scroll through your items system. This game is said to be released early next year.
