(E3 2010) Mario Sports Mix – Hands-On First Impressions

E3 2010 Hands-On First-Impressions with hattrick

Game: Mario Sports Mix
System: Wii

Mario Sports Mix contains four new sports titles, where Mario and his friends hash it out.  In a smart move, Nintendo has included multiple sports in one.  Basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and hockey are all included in this four-player game.  After some hands-on with volleyball, I can definitely tell this will be a fun party game.  While I did not do well against the Nintendo representative, I will say it was easy to catch on.  In fact, after one match, I was ready to play again.  The graphics and environments are exactly what you would expect, following in the footsteps of other Mario sports titles (i.e. Mario Super Sluggers and Mario Golf).  While it may have benefited from having Motion Plus support, it seems Nintendo has opted to go without.  Mario Sports Mix seems to be shaping up nicely as an enjoyable game for friends and families.

By the way, yes, I did get my butt kicked in the video posted above.  Hey, it was my first time playing, and she had probably played it at least 100 times by that point. Ha!

Great impressions. Looking forward to this very much as I'm a big fan of Mario sports games. 😀 And yeah, that rep obviously had some time beforehand to practice so don't feel too badly. 😉

The game looks simply amazing! And it looks like it feels fun and really natural. I think Im glad it has gone without the motion plus though. It looks like it still pretty precise without it.
