Hopes and Desires for the 3DS Ambassador Program
By now, you have probably heard about the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program, which is the way Nintendo has chosen to appease those who purchased a Nintendo 3DS early at the full launch price of $249. For those who connect their 3DS to the online eShop by midnight tonight, August 11, Eastern Time, you will qualify for 20 free downloadable games on your 3DS. These titles will include 10 NES and 10 GBA titles. Nintendo has stated what five of these games will be for each virtual console.
NES (available in September 2011):
- Super Mario Bros.
- Donkey Kong Jr.
- Balloon Fight
- Ice Climber
- The Legend of Zelda
GBA (available by the end of 2011):
- Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
- Mario Kart: Super Circuit
- Metroid Fusion
- WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$
- Mario vs. Donkey Kong
The question is what the rest of these titles will include. Many have speculated, and there have even been some rumors. However, we will not officially know what is coming until Nintendo decides to share. Perhaps that day will come soon, or maybe we have to wait until the launch-day of the program.
Until that point, we asked our Twitter/Facebook followers and our forum members what they would like to see as a part of the 3DS Ambassador Program. Below is what they would like to see hit the service.
- Super Mario Bros. 2 & 3
- Zelda II
- Blaster Master
- Earthbound Zero
- Duck Tales
- Mega Man 2
- Final Fantasy 1, 2, 3
