EA created a parody video and also announced a special price discount for all SimCity games.

EA on their video:

It’s all over the political news – where did Herman Cain get the idea for his 9-9-9 plan? According to the Huffington Post, quite possibly from the video game SimCity 4 by Electronic Arts. The team behind the famous city management game is having a good time with this possible connection and created this video in good natured fun.

EA Announces Special $9.99 Price on SimCity Games
In recognition of the recent GOP debate on Herman Cain’s tax 9-9-9 plan, EA has announced a special price discount so all candidates can simulate the economic plan themselves. For a limited time and exclusively on, anyone can take charge and fix the issues plaguing sim-humanity like raising and lowering personal and business taxes, solving crime and fighting off giant lizards. For the fiscally responsible price of $9.99, anyone can get real and see the future of economic growth…simulated of course.

I suppose it’s a good example of striking while the iron is hot.
