Amazon Instant Video is now available on the Wii U after a quick software update. In order to get it, just click on the Amazon Instant Video icon on your Wii U Menu. If you have previously deleted it, just head to the eShop. How does it work? Check out the instructions and features of the app below, straight from Amazon.

Amazon Instant Video is now playing on your Nintendo Wii U. Start watching more than 140,000 movies and TV episodes today. Amazon Prime members can watch thousands of these videos at no additional cost.

  • Selection: Find thousands of new release movies and in-season TV episodes for rent or purchase on your TV.
  • Instant Gratification: Order movies and TV episodes right from your couch and watch immediately after purchase — no lines, no returns, and incredible selection. Missed your favorite TV show last night? Watch it on Amazon Instant Video the day after it airs.
  • Convenience: Purchase and watch videos directly from your Wii U, then pick up where you left off on another compatible device. All of your video purchase and rentals are available in Your Video Library, accessible from the Wii U, the web, or any other compatible device. Rent a movie and you have 30 days to start watching — and once you start, you have at least 24 hours to finish. Keep track of the movies and TV episodes you want to watch later with Your Watchlist.
  • Second Screen Experience with Wii U GamePad controller: Use the 6.2-inch touch screen on the GamePad to search and browse for titles, and even playback video on the GamePad screen.
  • Kid Zone: Kid Zone on the Amazon Instant Video app on Wii U is designed for children ages 3 through 12. Parents and kids can discover and watch thousands of family friendly videos.
  • Parental Controls: Parents can protect children watching content that is not kid friendly through Parental Controls. Parents can restrict content based on Rating (R, PG-13, etc.) as well as by device (web, Wii U, TV, tablet, etc.). Parental Controls can be  managed online.
  • Amazon Prime: Prime members get unlimited access to more than 30,000 titles with Prime Instant Video at no additional cost. Learn about the benefits of an Amazon Prime Membership.
