April 2013 Wii U Update Significantly Cuts Loading Times

UPDATE: The system update is now live!

Nintendo has promised two Wii U system updates in the coming months. The more immediate one will add the Virtual Console, but it will also cut down on loading times, which many people have noticed are rather long when navigating the system’s menus.

According to their recently released comparison video, the load time for closing down a game and returning to the main menu are cut down from just over 20 seconds to approximately 8 seconds. That definitely seems like a desired improvement! Look for this Wii U system update sometime in April 2013.
