Wii U System Update on April 25, Virtual Console on April 26, MiiVerse Expansion This Week

Update: Miiverse is now available via web browser!

Update #2: The system update is now live!

Update #3: The Virtual Console is now live!

As of now, all signs point to the Wii U system update arriving on Thursday, and the Virtual Console launching on Friday. Further, there is a good possibility we will also see MiiVerse launch on web browsers this week, too. What are these signs? We are glad you asked:

  • Nintendo stated in their Nintendo Direct that the system update would be available this week, and the Virtual Console will launch the day after.
  • Nintendo has posted a time of “extended service” on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U from 5:00-7:00 PM (Pacific) that day.
  • Emily Rogers has posted on Twitter that the update will come Thursday, VC on Friday, and MiiVerse will be available this week on PC/mobile.
  • NintendoWorldReport says they have a source that states the update will happen on Thursday.

Only time will tell if all these fall into place. The good thing is that we will not have to wait very long.

Sound off: What do you think about these “rumors?” What upcoming update excites you the most?
