Pokemon XY Adventure Log: Day 10 – Photo Gallery and the Eighth Gym

by Alexandre TrottierOctober 21, 2013

Before me stands Victory Road and the Pokemon League. Behind me, the tarnished hopes and dreams of countless trainers. I’ve been tested time and time again and I have shared countless victories and defeats with my teammates, my friends. Now, the ultimate test awaits.

Unfortunately, that test is midterms. I won’t have lots of time to share my thoughts over the next two days, so instead I’ve prepared some brief thoughts about my experiences leading up to Victory Road, specifically the eighth gym. As well, you can check out some of the photos you can take at certain spots as you progress throughout the game.

I think the eighth gym is my favorite one so far. It’s interesting to look at and the gym’s main mechanic isn’t something that has appeared in other Pokemon games. It’s essentially a gigantic sliding puzzle. You press buttons to rotate portions of the gym in order to progress. Even though it wasn’t that tough, I had a lot of fun doing it. The trainers had a great mix of Ice-type Pokemon, and I got to see Avalugg, some sort of iceberg turtle thing that I really had a tough time beating. All in all, it was a very satisfying end to a decent set of new gym leaders.

Now, check out some of the pictures I took on my adventure, courtesy of Phil the Photo Guy. When you summon him at special photo locations, you can use the 3DS’s gyroscope to move around a fixed perspective, adjust zoom/brightness and other options, and save pictures to your 3DS Camera application. Once again, I apologize for the brevity of this post. Stay tuned, I’ll be back on Thursday with a new post!
