Nintendo Download: January 16, 2014

Here we are again. Another Thursday and another Nintendo Download. What will Nintendo surprise us with today on the eShop?

In a strange turn of events, Nintendo has released more games on the Wii U eShop than the 3DS this week. You can get Unepic, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, and F1 RACE STARS POWERED UP EDITION on Wii U. The only game released on the 3DS is also Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest. (Don’t get your hopes up. This is probably no hint at cross-purchases on the two eShops.) Also, it is probably important to remember that the Angry Video Game Nerd holds Castlevania II to be one of the worst games ever created.* So, in essence, we’ve really only got two new games this week. Sorry… However, Atlus’ Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is $20 off in the 3DS eShop from Jan. 20 to Jan. 27, so that’s exciting.

That’s it for this week’s Nintendo Download. Be sure to check out the full list of all the releases and prices below, along with the official press release information, straight from Nintendo of America. And be sure to let us know what game(s) or apps get you excited to play. Let us know in the comments below!
