Nintendo Schedules Extended Maintenance on Online Shops for March 13, 2014

Nintendo_eShop_logo

Nintendo has posted an extended maintenance time for all of its online shops on March 13, from 1:00-5:00 Pacific Time. This includes the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops, the Wii Shopping Channel, and the Nintendo DSi Shop. We do not yet know how this maintenance will affect services in the long run, but usually these times bring at least one new feature.

UPDATE (1:15 AM on 3.12.2014): The scheduled maintenance seems to have disappeared from Nintendo’s website. Did they cancel or is this a website error? We will report as soon as we know. Thanks to @snowyday2 on Twitter for the heads-up!

UPDATE (5:40 PM on 3.12.2014): the maintenance schedule has been updated again. This time, more details include downtime for the online play and rankings — specifically, Pokémon X and Y, Wii Sports Club, and Steel Diver: Sub Wars.
