RUMOR: Cosmic Mario/Metal Mario/Zero Suit Samus Custom Amiibo Repaints coming to Toys “R” Us? [UPDATE: It’s true!]

TRU Amiibo

The Amiibo hunt maybe just got a lot harder. My good friend Rangercrew found three images on the Toys “R” Us server that show Cosmic Mario, Metal Mario, and Zero Suit Samus repaints for the Super Smash Bros. Amiibo toyline. These repaints are actually customs from evilos, whose website you can view here. They are the Super Smash Bros. series Mario and Samus Amiibo with custom paint jobs. So why are these custom repaints on the Toys “R” Us server then? Could Toys “R” Us be selling evilos’ custom repaints in the future somehow? Or is this just some big mistake? All we know is these images are indeed on the Toys “R” Us server at this time, so we will have to wait and see what comes of this, if anything at all. Check out the images below.

UPDATE (2/18/15): Amiibo Inquirer has confirmed from Evilos that his customs will be sold online on the Toys “R” U website. It’s still a bit early as things are in the negotiation phase and we don’t know details on pricing and availability yet. But this is pretty major news that someone’s custom work will now be sold officially through Toys “R” Us!
