Miiverse Website Gets a Social Media-Style Facelift

If you recently hopped onto the Miiverse website and was a bit confused, there is a good reason. Nintendo just changed up the look and feel of their gaming-focused social network to make it more… well, social.

The first thing you will notice is that it looks much more modern and has several items ready for you right from the main page. Nintendo stated in their press release, “The best part is you can now see in real time what’s trending on Miiverse, keeping you up-to-date on the hottest topics and the coolest moments in gameplay.” Now, the best Super Mario Maker courses are shown right on the main page, and you can see the most popular Play Journal entries and drawings there, too.

Once you slide over to your profile page, you will notice it mirrors one you would expect from the likes of Facebook or Twitter. Your Mii and featured image are on the left, along with your profile information, while your posts are on the right.

You’ll also notice advertising, which is new for Miiverse. It’s not intrusive (yet), but it is a bit jarring the first time you see it, because it is new for Nintendo.

So, what do you think of the Miiverse redesign? Will this help you to use it more often? Let us know what you think in the comments.
